Lend Me A Tenor returns to Pendragonfor Columbus Day weekendLend Me a Tenor returns for a limited engagement to Pendragon Theatre on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 8 pm. It will play thru Sunday night (all performances at 8 pm). Directed by Bonnie B. Brewer, Lend Me A Tenor promises to have you laughing out loud, while simultaneously trying to keep track of the fast-paced, side-splitting, door slamming antics. On its Broadway debut in March 1989 Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me A Tenor was hailed by reviewers in the New York Times, Variety and other publications as one of the funniest comedies to appear in many years. The cast is a familiar blend of Company members from season’s past: Ellen Joffred is Maggie (the young girl in search of romance and ‘bells”), Joe McLaughlin is Max (the young hopeful male opera star), Chris McGovern is Saunders (the excitable manager of the opera), Bob Pettee is Tito (Il Stupendo, opera star extraordinare), Kim Andresen Patnode is Maria (Tito’s feisty Italian wife), Clare Paulson is the Bellhop (one mission: meet Tito!), Molly Walsh is Diana (opera diva looking to better her career), Binnie Ritchie Holum rounds out the cast as Julia (head of the opera guild). Lend Me A Tenor plays for 3 nights only. October 5, 6, 7 at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors, $10 for students 17 and under. A classic to be sure, THE FANTASTICKS is the
longest running show in the history of the American theatre. It closed
after a continuous 42 year run in New York, 17,162 performances. A slightly revised version opened Off Broadway again last summer. Over 700 productions have been mounted in 68 foreign countries. The Washington Post labeled it "a musical phenomenon." F. Murray Abraham, Glenn Close, Liza Minelli , Bert Lahr and Jerry Orbach are only some of the actors who have performed the memorable music. Familiar songs include: "Try to Remember," "Soon It's Gonna Rain", "Never Say No." The durable and evocative play is an allegorical story loosely based on LES ROMANESQUES by Edmond Rostand. Pendragon's production opened July 11th. Karen ( Lordi ) Kirkham is back for her 12th summer. Her cast includes: Jason Brill, Lonnie and Kyle Ford, Jordan Horntsein, Ellen Joffred, Kate Pettee, Matt Sorensen, Kent Streed. |

SLEEPING BEAUTY is enchanting young and old audiences. Students queried at school performances deemed it "awesome," and are subsequently bringing their parents to performances at Pendragon's home base in Saranac Lake. The charming adaptation of the enduring fairy tale premiered in the British Isles. Sleeping Beauty is a savvy young woman with a half dragon side kick. Puppets, good witches, bad witches, and of course the prince, complete the hour long performance which runs throughout the summer. The cast includes: Kim Andresen Patnode (Branwen the Bright Witch); Leslie Dame (Modron the Dark Witch); Jason Amrhein (Gryff the Half Dragon); Jessica Deeb (Queen Guinevere / Tylwyth Teg 2); Christopher McGovern (King Perdur / The Spider King); Rhiannon M. Kramer (Princess Briar Rose / Tylwyth Teg 1) and Matt Sorensen (Prince Owain / The Bishop). Sorensen also directed Pendragon's family classic, |
